Stanford trip

As one my last big hoo-rahs of graduate school I was asked to come to the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) National Laboratory in Palo Alto, CA. Eric needed to run some work here to help finish up his dissertation research and needed an entourage for some non-stop 24 hour per day experiments. Anyway, in the few hours I wasn't sleeping or working I took the time to go for a little run, check out the Stanford Mall (crazy nice, but still a mall), and walk around the Stanford University campus a bit. Stanford is a pretty awesome campus and I thought it was a pretty good chance to get some Blublogger shots. Can't wait to get out of here and back to life though.

BBQ at Kate Sessions Park

Today we met Brooke and Ryan for a little BBQ at Kate Sessions Park. Weather was great, dogs everywhere, and there was some good slack lining to be had. If you haven't been to Kate Sessions on a clear day, you have to check it out. Great views, awesome space, and an accessible location. Took the Blublogger shots from the top of the hill.

Cowles Mountain hike

Today my lovely wife and I decided to hike Cowles Mountain. It was a great day in San Diego... sunny, about 70 degrees, with a slight breeze. The hike was more difficult than I expected, but a fun time. Not the best picture-taking weather today because of the haze, but I got this shot on the way down. I guess it is hard to follow up Half Dome and Whitney. Until next time!

What is the "Blublogger?"

During my visit to June Lake, CA this past weekend for New Year's we discovered that the magic of Blublocker sunglasses makes for some pretty rad pictures. After I saw my picture of Half Dome from Olmsted Point through the Blublocker lens I knew it was time to share it with the world... or at least the three or four people I can get to follow this blog.

After that first picture I was also able to get a good one of Whitney. Two iconic peaks in one weekend, lucky guy huh?

So, from now on there will be a Blockblocker lens or two in my point-and-shoot camera case ready to capture whatever looks cool and I'll try to update regularly. Enjoy!
