Niagara Falls

Let me start by giving some advice. Don't go to Niagara Falls unless you:

A. Love huge crowds of inconsiderate people
B. Love paying a lot of money for all the food you eat
C. Happen to be in the area

The Falls are cool, don't get me wrong, but there are so many cooler things to see in the U.S. and Canada, that the crowds are just not worth it. Also, DO NOT go to the buffet at Skylon Tower! It was quite possibly the worst dining experience of my life.

Anyway, enough complaining, let's get to the fun stuff!

So Mayzie finally, after 5 1/2 months, go to meet her Connecticut cousins! Based on the 24 hours or so we were with them, I conclude that she likes them a lot, especially Brooks.

We got to take the boat ride out to the Horseshoe Falls on Friday (unfortunately w/out Lacey and Mayzie). That was a lot of fun, and the kids really enjoyed it!

After everyone else was tucked away in their hotels room, I snuck out and got some nighttime photos of the Falls. I'm not sure how excited I am that they light them up like a rainbow, but I have to admit it is kinda cool.

Oh yeah, we also got some good pictures from the aforementioned Skylon Tower (gross).

Besides hanging out with the Pennells, I would have to say the highlight of my trip was seeing Wayne Gretzky's childhood home where his dad, Walter, still lives. I was a bit bummed, however, to find out after we left that Walter is incredibly inviting and probably would have let us in the see all the memorabilia in his basement if we would have knocked (sad face... single tear). Well, just another reason to go back to Brantford, Ontario soon! :)

Overall, a very fun quick weekend away for our first family vacation! We are so happy my Mommy was able to join us, and we have our fingers crossed that Mayzie starts liking car rides a bit more soon!
